Blu Matter Project

Our group is looking to aid students who are struggling with mental wellness during their university life by providing them with coping mechanisms and support. We plan to do this through the practice of monthly yoga sessions. Research has shown that exercise has been one of such coping mechanisms. In particular, yoga has shown to be highly correlated with alleviation of depressive symptoms. In addition, we will host a wide variety of different events such as talks by university professors.

We are partnered with Blu Matter Project (, a non-profit organization that works with people living with depression or bipolar disorders and provides them with yearlong memberships to practice yoga at various locations around Toronto.

With our roots seated in neuroscientific research, we hope to bring the values of Blu Matter Project to U of T with a focus on YOUR mind!
