Aikido and Budo Club

The purpose is to practice Aikido, which is a sport originated from combination of ancient Japanese martial arts termed “Budo”, in order to maintain physical and mental health. From physical perspective Aikido practices increase flexibility, reflexes, strength and stamina, moreover improve body awareness and timing skills of individuals. From mental perspective, Aikido practices are good for developing self confidence, stress relief, refraining from ego, coping with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. Aikido is an activity requiring functioning of mind and body as a whole, hence along with speed and strength people develop kindness, inner peace and compassion. Ultimately, the purpose is to get a set of skills that would lead to a healthier and happier life.

Practices: Friday 7pm-9pm. Hart House.
